Educational Philosophy
Children need time to grow.  A growing number of parents are pushing their young toward gaining skills and knowledge before they are ready, plus denying them the opportunity to mature at a natural pace. By pushing children to learn at earlier and earlier ages they are making for failures.  Development of their capacities depends on the growth of the brain and nervous system.  There are wide individual differences in the pace of children’s growth, and parents can only frustrate and confuse children by trying to force it.  Help children experience childhood.  Children need to be allowed opportunities to play as well as work, to dream as well as do.  They need periods of privacy as well.  We are encouraging our students to be learners, not performers.  A performer does everything possible to get high marks and please both the teacher and the parent.  While this is not totally wrong, a learner, in contrast, is excited about the world, filled with a sense of wonder.  Learners are not afraid to fail on occasion because failure is an inevitable part of the learning process.  But a performer does not dare fail.  Such children are under incredible pressure to be perfectionists.  “Failures are the pillars of success.”  To help our youngsters become more healthy adults tomorrow, they must be allowed to be children today- unhurried, cared and carefree.

Academic Objectives

  • To teach children to work both independently and cooperatively.
  • To teach the student to think for himself.
  • To develop the creative skills and critical thinking skills of the child.
  • To develop affective communication skills of the student.

Personal Objectives

  • To help the student have an understanding and acceptance of himself as a unique individual and to encourage the fullest development of his capabilities.
  • To develop good and proper attitudes toward the family.
  • To promote physical fitness, good health and good use of the body.

School Family Objectives

  • To help the parents understand the purpose and program of our school.
  • To cooperate closely with the parents in all areas of development of the student.
  • To have the parent closely involved in the school program.
  • We are not affiliated with any specific religious denomination. We do talk about different types of religions and say grace before each meal.
